The new year was just coming and Nature Blues would be welcoming their new juveniles to the tracks and getting them acquainted with the tracks and the races. This morning Terri, Lawrence, and David would be taking three juveniles out to see how they would do. Terri was set to ride Tuff E' Nuff a 17 hands high colt by legend True Enough out of Dashing in the Firelight. Tuff E' Nuff was a monster with a thin frame and long legs Terri felt that these legs would get him a long way. The colt would run with ease like a machine, the colt grew to keep his spoiled nature holding his head high in the proper notion that had Terri shake her head.
The bay colt soon turned his head to nip at the saddle as it was still new to him and he soon bobbed his head and pounded his hooves to the ground. "Hey hey Striker easy boy. Once we get going you won't even feel it I promise. Stop being such a drama king." Terri said rubbing the True Enough colt with a calm gesture. The black colt beside Striker, was another True Enough colt named Genuine Risk out of Atalanta, this colt was nothing like his brother beside him. Genuine Risk stood like his sire 15.3 Hands High and he was simply more the moody one than the flirty one.
Lawrence Kaine was abroad the black colt and he was quite nervous of the colt. Genuine Risk flicked his tail at his jockey and when looking at the tall colt next to him, Gene could smell the relation and pinned his ears towards the disliking of his half brother. Gene was a router like Tuff E' Nuff but unlike his tall brother Genuine Risk had the speed necessary for his height. The colt liked to rush off at the start of the gate with a promising run and possibly with an attitude at best of the Augusto lined colt. Genuine Risk would rival his brother for the crown and it would not be a pretty notion.
On the left of Genuine Risk was a black bay filly named Eulogy Rise by The Rising out of Carmilla. She was a lot to handle within her stall, David Monroe had taken over ten minutes to help saddle such a filly. She was just as small as Gene but she was one to think like a colt holding her head high with her ears forward. Euly showed no interest in the colts beside her as she stood there with an impatient stature. She was granted as a closer as she takes a rough minute to find that stride she needs before taking on the pack. She was of the first of The Rising's and all the staff would have high hopes for the brown filly. Her behavior was unpredictable and she would use it to her advantage.
With the start both Gene and Euly rushed to the front of the pack their strides as even as they can be. Gene holding the lead from Euly by a head, Striker remained in the back his long legs taking a moment to find that sorted stride he needed. Striker soon began to pick up the stamina throwing himself at a faster pace and within the half of the back stretch the tall bay son of True Enough found himself evenly paired with the two front runners. Striker towered over them both his presence making Euly uncomfortable as Gene showed no retaliation.
Along the final turn it was Gene and Striker who took off with their announced speed leaving Eulogy Rise to be on their hind. The brothers were neck and neck while Striker pushed the small black colt to his level. It was within seconds that Striker sprinted away from Genuine Risk and Eulogy Rise and passing the wire by 3 Lengths in total. Terri laughed in the excitement of Striker's first workout. "Such a good boy Tuff, I can't wait to see what you can do out in the real races." Terri said before turning him around to look at the other two.
"Seems like Gene wasn't happy with the result." Terri said looking at Lawrence trying to keep Genuine Risk calm and steady. "At least Gene was able to keep up. David still needs to work on The Rising Filly." Lawrence said as David shook his head with a glance of hate towards his fellow jockeys, "She may not have the lines of your two horse but Euly has some good lines I think she would do great for the tiara." David said patting Eulogy Rise who kept bobbing her head with anger of her defeat. They were set for their juvenile careers and would they put on a show.
